When A Chameleon Loves A Crocodile

Yeah, I know, I said I was done with the Chaotix stuff, but I saw Disney's insanely awesome movie, The Princess And The Frog, and it inspired this strip. It's a great movie and you should all watch it.

Unfortunately I don't have much else to say. I've had possibly one of the worst days of my life today. My computer has completely crashed thanks to it somehow getting a shit ton of maleware and spyware despite me having virus and spyware protection programs I run daily, so it's pretty much unusable at the moment (it won't even let me access the internet or change my wallpaper at the moment). I'm typing this post on my laptop, which is slow, clunky, and in pretty terrible shape. Too make matters worse, I almost lost my job today, and my bosses decided to keep me around the office during this near fire long enough to make it to where I was only able to get like 4 hours of sleep. Sigh.

Here's a .zip of "Long Songs," widely regarded (by 10 people) as the best Deathmøle album. It does have my favorite song I've ever written on it ("Pelicans").

Sooo I cut my own hair again. I don't look that good. :P I now have several inches less hair. There's actually some hair that's barely long enough to reache my nose. It's weird.

On a completely unrelated note, I was bored and made this Spelunky level (right click save). Someone with Spelunky should play it and then get frustrated with me. :)

Also, uh, I hate to beg, but... if anyone wants to commission me to draw stuff, that would be totally awesome. The money would be very, very helpful.

After a long, lovely holiday vacation I owe you all an update. After spending the beginning of December getting the last of the book together and off to the printer, I got the final proofs and changes settled in the last few days leading up to Christmas. Part Three is now officially in the pipeline to the presses, and with any luck I will be seeing books sometime after the 12th. I now move into the exciting phase of planning the book launch towards the end of the month or early February. This may mean some radio silence here in the short term while I get my evil plot together for the coming year. I'll post artwork and news as I'm able, but the new story line won't be starting up just yet. Look for it after I relaunch the new website.

As always, thanks for your patience!

Baconator... anator

Yes, the Triple Baconator is real, and I think Wedny's is trying to kill people. Granted this didn't stop me from trying to eat one. Surprisingly, I'm still alive, but I'm sure it has at least shaved five years off my life.

Now I was going to ramble a bit about the Baconator and Wendy's, but colorist, Chris, sent me a funny rambling message as a response to this comic, so I decided to post that instead. It's way more entertaining than anything I'd have been able to write.

"The Baconator...man, I was so mad when they brought that thing out. I was so used to getting the double quarter pounder with bacon and cheese...that thing was awesome. Then one night, we got hungry so I drove down to the Wendy's around the corner to pick us up the number 4, only to find out it was replaced with this "baconator" beast. So I got two of those meals. Got back to the house and realized it was just waaaaaaaay too much meat. I mean, I looooooooooooove bacon...I think bacon makes EVERYTHING better...unless it's chocolate covered bacon..don't know how people eat that stuff. But the baconator...something tasted different. I'm guessing it's the massive amounts of meat mixing together...more than I was used to. To this day I still can't really eat one. I used to love Wendy's, but ever since Dave died, it hasn't been the same for me. Kinda like when McDonald's started using olean...that stuff does not like my system at all. I swear the only thing I can eat at McDonald's are the cinnamon sugar pretzels, and not all of them have those. So I started eating Jack in the Box all the time...that got old, but the bacon ultimate cheeseburger is so awesome! So is the sourdough jack...mmm. But to keep from getting bored, I started eating at Burger King.....A LOT. Why? Convenience. There's one RIGHT around the corner from our neighborhood...sometimes the girls from the nearby ranch ride their horses up there...I need to take a picture. And, when I was working at Gamestop, there was one right ACROSS the street, and I continued eating there even when I left to work for that printing company cause it wasn't too far from it. Also, in between all that I'd been eating a lot of Whataburger. See what this comic has done...brought out my bad eating habits. I literally LIVED on fast food. I don't eat as much of it as I used to, but it's still a BIG part of my diet. For the most part now, I eat steak burgers from Steak n Shake...a restaraunt chain that came here from the northern states...though there's only ONE in Houston and it's right down the street as well. The inside is set up almost EXACTLY like James Coney Island, but the food is AWESOME. My and my friends eat there on a daily basis sometimes.

This was all a bunch of nonsense you probably didn't want to know, but hey, you learned a little bit more about me, lol." - Chris Jones

You remember our friends the chimney sweeps yeah? From a long time ago. Or pehaps it is called Polly and the Idiots, I don't know.

I hope your holidays were good! Mine were very busy with family, and how. Also check this out, John Campbell started Hourly Comic Month again, it's bananas.

You know, I sketch a lot of Wonder Womans when dawdling, I like the look of 'em.

This is an e-mail I received from my good friend Josie. It's regarding her and her husband's cat, Zorba (full name: Zorba the Geek). I'm re-posting it here because I want to help out little Zorba as much as possible by passing it on to as many people as I can.

*****

Dear friends,

I am searching for a loving, compassionate person who has the time and energy to take a cat into their lives who need re-training. We rescued Zorba when he was a little kitty and adopted him from the ASPCA over 3 years ago. He is lovable and playful--he loves to attack laundry that's being folded and hide in paper bags. He'll cuddle right up on your feet while you're sleeping and sit in your lap while you're watching movies. He chases catnip toys all around the house and is absolutely adorable.

His life has been a bit tumultuous--he had urinary tract blockage very early in his life, twice, and we decided to give him the expensive surgery that prevents future blockage. Unfortunately, when we bought a new couch last month, he peed on it. This is behavior that he used to have as a kitten, but that we really hadn't seen since his last blockage. We cleaned our couch with the cat-pheromone solution that they sell at the natural pet store that is supposed to stop cats from marking things twice, but it didn't solve the problem and he continued to spray on the couch. We tried locking him in rooms away from the couch when we weren't home, but then he just started going to the couch and marking it when we were home. We tried multiple kinds of pheromone solution. And then it got to the point where he was doing it several times a day--our house smelled like cat pee and our couch was always wet from the cleaning solution.

With heavy hearts, we realized that we had to give our beautiful pet up for adoption. We've put him in a shelter in Manhattan and it just makes us sick to know that he's in a cage and terrified. We really do love him and want him to be in a home.

Do you know anyone who is good at retraining problem cats and who wants to take on this lovable little guy as a project? He might be better as a cat that has some access to the outdoors.

*****

If you're interested and/or capable of helping Zorba out, please drop me an e-mail and I will put you in contact with Josie.

Thanks.

I was glancing over iTunes today when I realized "whoa, 8 songs, almost exactly 45 minutes of music...I have a new Deathmøle record finished. Holy shit I've made five of these fucking things?!"

Anyway, here's a convenient .zip of all the mp3s if you'd like to download them in one big chunk. Click the cover art:

Let me know if there are any problems with the zip or the downloads. If people enjoy this distribution method I might zip up the older stuff and put that on Mediafire as well.

Nothing much else to talk about! I should draw something. Or something.
